Pulse Dance Company was so inspired by Netherlands Dans Theater’s “Quarantine Creation” that we made our own version. This dance video connects dancers from the Pulse family past and present, now located in New York, Florida, Nevada, and everywhere in between. Happy 10 year anniversary, Pulse.

Pulse Dance Company proudly closes its 8th season in Anchorage with an explosive finale concert. Simultaneously dynamic and curious, the evening's line up of new works will captivate with joy, heartache, laughter, self reflection, and dances that explore the boundaries of today's contemporary dance aesthetic. Anchorage choreographer Stephanie Wonchala premieres the delightfully quirky and fearlessly danced "We're All Gonna Blow this Joint," constructed somewhere between earnestness and irreverence and dripping with nostalgia. The Company demonstrates rigorous collectivity while challenging social norms in "i.d.," a new work by choreographer Jake Casey of Theatre Vanemuine. Audiences will delight in the physicality of guest performances by award-winning groups Artistic Drift hip hop crew and the Senior Company from Studio 49. This exciting shared evening of international and local choreographers promises to be a unique theatrical experience in Alaska. It's not to be missed, and runs one weekend only!

Choreographer’s Note: This work was inspired by buskers on the streets of Munich and created in reflection of the times we find ourselves in. Much love to the company for their great sense of humor, killer skill, and intrepid commitment to the creation of this work.

CARAVAN immerses audiences in a topsy turvy world that's part macabre carnival, part comedic parade, and soberingly relevant. In a world where any fool can be king, dancers invite audiences into a mad house of haunting missed connections and vaudevillian splendor. Prepare to experience a breadth of expressive possibilities as the company's athletic dancers dive headfirst into a roiling, highly physical, and delightfully quirky escapade. The first act will consist of new works and guest performances, including choreography set by Studio 49's Mikal Preston on the dancers of Pulse Dance Co, new work set by Pulse's Stephanie Wonchala on the dancers of Studio 49, and a guest performance by Momentum Dance Collective. THREE SHOWS ONLY: Friday, March 1 at 7:30pm Saturday, March 2 at 7:30pm Sunday, March 3, 4:30pm matinee CARAVAN may not be suitable for children under 6. Music: "Step Right Up" by Tom Waits.
