Pulse Dance Company is holding auditions for their contemporary rendition of The Nutcracker. Auditions are open to all Anchorage dancers/performers ages 8+. Positions available include party girls and boys, party parents, snowflakes and flowers, and some demi and soloist roles.
Pulse’s Nutcracker Redux is an adventurous departure from the story’s traditional victorian setting and plunges audiences into a sugar-coated, edgy world of colorful characters and hilarious spectacle.
WHY AUDITION:
A new opportunity for local youth and adult performers to be featured in an all-Alaskan production that simultaneously celebrates yet diverges from tradition.
AUDITION DATE/TIMES:
Friday, August 24 at Studio Pulse Center for Dance
Ages 8-11: 5:00-5:30pm
Ages 12-17: 5:45-6:15pm
Adults ages 18+: 6:30-7:00pm
Please arrive at least 10 minutes early to complete paperwork and warm up.
CLASS/AUDITION FEE:
$10, no special clothes or shoes required if not already owned. Come ready to be guided through movement, experience the audition process, and to have fun!
CAST ANNOUNCED:

PARTICIPATION FEE:
$75 (includes all rehearsals and costumes; dancers must provide their own shoes/undergarments.)
REHEARSAL TIMES:
* Youth dancers selected for roles are required to attend rehearsals on Saturdays, beginning September 8, within the 12:30-3:45 time frame (TBA).
* Adult dancers selected are required to attend rehearsals that could land on Fridays, 7:00-9:30pm (snow, flowers) and/or Saturdays, 2:30-3:45pm (party scene).
SHOW DATES:
Tech week/dress rehearsal runs the week of December 3 with performances on Friday and Saturday, December 7 & 8 at 7:00pm at the Wendy Williamson Auditorium.
Please note that not all auditioning dancers can be cast. However, auditions are a wonderful chance to learn and dance with members from the across the dance community!
