Pulse Dance Company seeks experienced, adventurous dancers who would like to grow and perform in a professional environment.
SEARCHING FOR: Disciplined, inventive dancers ages 18+ with performance experience. Most importantly, dancers should have a deeply rooted interest in movement exploration. Eligible dancers maintain a regular training regimen during the week, and are comfortable performing in or assisting with our annual burlesque fundraiser. Kind humans with a passion for the arts, ability to serve as an ambassador for our organization, and a great sense of humor is a plus - we see a lot of each other!

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Is familiar with Pulse Dance Company's past works and is eager to work within that evolving aesthetic.

Has training and performance experience in various dance styles.

Is passionate about furthering dance in Anchorage, and playing an active role in our growing community.

Is open to the creative process and is eager to grow and explore with an open mind.

Attends rehearsals regularly and on time; fully commits to tech week prior to performances.

Enthusiastically assists with light fundraising activities (silent auction item procurement, program book ad sales).

Is a great communicator, and prioritizes Pulse commitments.
COMMITMENT: Rehearsals begin late summer/early fall and run through spring. The company rehearses three nights weekly (sample week: Mon, Tues, Wed, 7-9:45pm) as well as occasional weekends. Dancers are expected to arrive to rehearsal ready, ideally straight from a technique or conditioning class prior to rehearsal. The season runs late summer through early March of 2024.
MEMBERSHIP:
Annual $150 membership fee. (This demonstrates member commitment to the company, its mission, and supports hundreds of hours of rehearsal space rental. This works out to roughly .20 cents per rehearsal hour in the season.)
